PLUG OK license plate
Donate Any Amount or Become a Charter Sponsor!

CalCars has received modest support from foundations, Google.org, the Electric Auto Association, several California utilities and individuals. Since 2002, we have been mostly a volunteer organization, with a meager budget that covers our website and small operating costs, but it means we often pass up opportunities like conferences.

That's where you come in. You can do more than express a general intention. Your actions are helping to jump-start a historic change. Your contribution of any amount gives CalCars the means to build the Initiative to get car makers to evolve to plug-in cars (and it's tax-deductible).

If you can, we're asking you to donate a suggested $95 to become a Charter Sponsor. Together with other campaigns, this will prove there's a viable market for better cars. Your donation will get you one of the unique bumper stickers that tells the world we can have better, cleaner cars — display it on your car or collect it!

For T-shirts, other bumper stickers and license-plate holders, see products.html. We will send a bumper sticker to anyone who contributes $25 or more.

Institutional Charter Sponsors for $495 are also available.

How to Make a Donation

CalCars is a Special Interest Chapter of the Electric Auto Association, a 501(c)(3) organization that has been working to promote plug-in vehicles since 1967. EAA's donation page is reachable through its home page or directly at Donations.

To donate once or monthly to CalCars with a credit card or a check, at that page, please scroll down to the link to Special Funds, and on that page, scroll all the way down, beyond the annual Special Funds, to the CalCars Chapter "Donate Online" link. Or you can skip all this and get to the Secure Online Donation form for the CalCars Special Fund.

At that link you can use a credit card for a one-time or recurring monthly donation. You'll get a receipt. Or you can use this to create an invoice that you can send with a check payable to The Electric Auto Association with a notation for CalCars Special Fund, and mail it to Will Beckett, Membership, EAA, 323 Los Altos Drive, Aptos, CA 95003.

Thank you for supporting the CalCars Initiative!
